Themed as a place to “camp out” for a bit, this sensory room was installed in Conner Prairie’s new Museum Experience Center that opened in 2026. I was the lead designer of this project, serving as concept developer & designer, 3D modeler, producer, and installer. I lead the project from concept through installation, working with sensory consultants to ensure elements were appropriate for guests who may need to take a sensory break.
The idea was to create a themed space that meets the needs of guests with sensory needs, but that that does not become an attraction in its own right. With over 1,000 acres of land, Conner Prairie invites guests to “step into the story” as they explore history and nature in unique, immersive ways. A campsite-themed room carries the themes of nature and storytelling forward into a space that is fitting to Conner Prairie’s brand and experiences.
